Website

BADILAG began developing website, www.badilag.net, on 16 April 2006. The website is intended to accelerate information among all courts in Religious judicature and externally to expand public access to BADILAG and all courts in religious judicature.

The website contains menus reflecting the transparency of information in courts. The menus consist of general description about institution, main tasks and functions, information of activities, information of Religious Court cassation cases, laws and regulations, judgments of all PTAs, hearing schedule, budget transparency, and other menus.

Information transparency in court becomes a common concern after The Supreme Court has issued decree of the Head of The Indonesian Supreme Court (SK KMA) No.144/2007 about information transparency in court. This decree has effectively supported all courts including Religious Courts to develop their own websites.

In the end of May 2009, 268 websites of Religious Courts and 1 website of BADILAG have been developed. Those websites consist of 26 PTA/Mahkamah Syar’iyah Aceh websites (out of 29 work units of PTA/Mahkamah Syar’iyah Aceh) and 242 websites of PA/Mahkamah Syar’iyah (out of 343 work units of PA). Meanwhile, 104 work units have not had website yet. Graphic below describes the level of website possession in religious courts.

Based on website distribution in each PTA jurisdiction, there are 14 PTAs whose PAs 100% have already had website. Those are PTA Medan, PTA Padang, PTA Bengkulu, PTA Bangka Belitung, PTA Jakarta, PTA Bandung, PTA Semarang, PTA Yogyakarta, PTA Surabaya, PTA Pontianak, PTA Banjarmasin, PTA Makassar, PTA Palu, and PTA Jayapura.

The following table shows complete data of website distribution in religious courts:

Based on data above, the distribution of websites in religious judicature in big islands in Indonesia can also be described as follows: Sumatera (65 websites), Java (112 websites), Bali/NTB (6 websites), Kalimantan (36 websites), Sulawesi (6 websites), and Irian Jaya (13 websites).

Currently, The Supreme Court has allocated sufficient budget in all courts for IT development. Therefore, all PAs and PTAs will expectedly have owned and developed website by the end of 2009.
