After officially launching its English version website last October in Palembang, Badilag is now proud to present Arabic version of www.badilag.net that has been in existence since April 2006. The Arabic version with the address at www.arabic.badilag.net has been accessible for public since Saturday (12/12). Three versions of badilag.net are now available on the internet; Bahasa, English and Arabic.

The objective of badilag.net Arabic version is for improving the quality of Human Resources in Indonesian Religious Courts in addition to meeting public expectation as expressed by Chief Judges of High Religious Courts when the English version was launched, said Wahyu Widiana, DG of Badilag, on Friday (11/12) in Bandung, West Java.

“A huge number of Religious Courts’ legal sources is in Arabic literatures. Consequently, Religious Courts officers, judges in particular, must possess Arabic skills. Thus, the Arabic version website can be made as a strategic media to improve those skills,” Wahyu Widiana said.

Speaking of the same voice, Chief Judge of PTA (High Religious Court) Bandung, Zainal Imamah, said the availability of badlag.net Arabic version could give raise to further explore the courts legal sources.

The presence of badilag.net with two International languages, Wahyu added, is also Badilag’s commitment to provide a broader access of information for domestic and International communities about the development of Religious Courts in Indonesia.

Farid Ismail, Secretary to Ditgen of Badilag, said both English and Arabic versions of badilag.net are developed professionally. “The contents of the two websites are presented by a selected team so that all information contained can be accounted for. We don’t use any translation machine such as Google and the like,” he said.

As for Arabic version of badilag.net, Farid said, Badilag has tightly selected a team comprising judges and judge candidates that mostly graduated from Middle Eastern universities.

“Along with IT Team from Badilag, this ‘Arabic team’ spent 3 days, 11-13 December, in Bandung to prepare the website.”

Language editor for this Arabic website is coordinated by H. Nasich Salam, Lc, LLM (Judge Candidate at PA Jogjakarta) with 5 members coming from different regions in Indonesia. The five members are Dr. H. Muh. Arasy Latif, Lc, MA (Judge at PA Unaha, Kendari), Mahrus, Lc (Judge at PA Sanggau, Pontianak), H. Armansyah, Lc (Judge at PA Rengat, Pekanbaru), Soleh, Lc (judge at PA Manna, Bengkulu) and Abdul Halim Muhammad S, Lc (Judge Candidate at PA North Jakarta).

And the web design is handled by IT team under the coordination of Asep Nurshobah (Judge at PA Kayu Agung, Palembang), assisted by other Badilag’s IT members; Helmi Indra Mahyudin, Iwan Kartiwan and Ridwan Anwar.

Director General of Badilag expects all Religious Courts officers and officials to maintain the updating of this new version of badilag.net. He further urges all Chief Judges to ‘force’ all elements within Religious courts to access badilag.net both in English and Arabic versions. Wahyu sees websites not only as information media but also as development media for all courts apparatus. (asnoer/avic)
