 “Think Globally, Act Locally, Start from small things”

Deputy Chief Justice for the Development, Widayatno Sastro Hardjono, officially opened Working Meeting of the Directorate General of Badilag (Religious Courts Body) on Monday (8/2) in Bandung, West Java. The meeting planned to take place until next Thursday (11/2) is attended by officials from all ranges within the Directorate.

The Deputy Chief Justice stressed the importance of achieving the new vision of the Supreme Court to realize great Indonesian judiciary.

“If we all possess high intention, willingness, capability and sincerity, then we can possibly achieve the Supreme Court’s great vision even before 2025,” Widayatno said.

“Think big and start from small things!,” he added. “Look at ourselves. What breakthrough have we made?, To what extent have we changed?.  The Supreme Court’s vision won’t be achieved if we all are static.”

Widayatno further explained 4 missions of the Supreme Court to implement; maintaining the independence of the judiciary, providing fair public services, enhancing the leadership quality, and improving credibility and transparency of the judiciary.

Appreciation from the Deputy Chief Justice

On the same occasion, the Deputy Chief Justice explicitly appreciated the achievement that Badilag has obtained so far, especially on public service and transparency of judiciary. The Deputy mentioned the availability of websites at Religious Courts all over Indonesia has helped improve public service and transparency.

“You should be proud to have a Director General like Pak Wahyu who has a bunch of ideas and breakthrough in managing Religious Courts,” he said.

The Deputy hoped the Badilag Working Meeting would produce programs in line with the vision and mission of the Supreme Court.
