Supreme Court Chief Justice, Harifin A. Tumpa, received a courtessy call from Sudanese Supreme Court delegation on Monday (22/2). The delegation consists of 2 high court judges, 6 judges from first instance courts and 2 representatives from the Department of International Development, the United Kingdom that sponsors this visit.
Chief Justice, accompanied by Vice Chief Justice, Abdul Kadir Mappong, Vice Coordinator for reform Team, Prof. Takdir Rahmadi, Justice Prof. Abdul Gani Abdullah, warmly welcomed the delegation that arrived in Indonesia on Saturday (20/2)
.“We gladly welcome the Sudan Supreme Court delegation. We hope this visit can be beneficial for both of Indonesia and Sudan judiciaries,” Chief Justice said.
Meanwhile, chief of the delegation, Ms. Dalia Bashir Surag, on her welcoming speech conveyed regards from Sudan Supreme Court Chief Justice. She also hoped that this visit could tighten the relationship between Sudan and Indonesian judiciaries.
The Sudan delegation will be in Indonesia until next Saturday (27/2) and visited the Supreme Court Training Center in Bogor on Tuesday (23/2) and Mahkamah Syari’iyah Aceh on Wednesday (24/2).
A number of discussions have been held between Indonesian judiciary and Sudan delegation. Many useful things have been explored for the benefit of both countries to advance their judiciaries. (vic)
