RC Giri Menang, West Lombok, to Hear Most Prodeo Cases through Circuit Court

Ditjen Badilag menetapkan tahun 2011 sebagai tahun justice for all, selain tahun reformasi birokrasi. Dengan program justice for all, Badilag bermaksud memberikan akses yang lebih luas kepada masyarakat kurang mampu untuk mendapat keadilan melalui pengadilan agama. Program itu diimplementasikan dalam wujud perkara prodeo, sidang keliling dan pos bantuan hukum.
Directorate General of Religious Courts set 2011 as the year for ‘Justice for All’ and bureaucracy reform. ‘Justice for All’ programs are aimed at opening broader access for the poor and disadvantaged people to access to religious courts across the country. The programs are mainly implemented through prodeo facility, circuit court and legal aid post.
So, which religious court is handling most prodeo and circuit court cases in Indonesia this year? .Religious Court (RC) Giri Menang would be the answer. The court that falls under the jurisdiction of PTA (High Religious Court) Mataram and is located at the Regency of West Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat, serves the community spreading across 15 districts at West and North Lombok. North Lombok is new regency that does not yet have its own religious court.
RC Giri Menang will handle 523 prodeo cases this year. Most of the prodeo cases are held through circuit courts. In January 2011, RC Giri Menang has decided no less than 90 prodeo cases within two circuit courts. The court has also registered 180 prodeo cases by the middle of this month. (c)
