Chief Justice, the Hon. Harifin A. Tumpa, issued a new Decision Letter (SK) on Guidelines for Providing Court Information, on January 5, 2011. The new SK, No. 1-144/KMA/SK/I/2011, is the revision of the similar letter No. 144/KMA/SK/VIII/2007 that was made four years ago.
Through this new Decision Letter, Chief Justice asserts that information transparency is the Supreme Court’s commitment to implement bureaucracy reform. .The SK No. 144/2007 needed to be revised since it is no longer relevant with several related laws that were issued after the SK was published. A number of laws regulating information transparency came to public following the SK. Those laws are Law No. 14/2008 on Public Information Transparency (KIP), Law No. 25/2009 on Public Services and Commission of Information, and Law No. 1/2010 on Standards on Public Information Services.
“This SK is a guideline for all judicial officers in providing court information,” said Chief Justice.
DG of Badilag, Wahyu Widiana, urges all religious courts’ officers to study and learn the new SK. “It’s very important for improving our public services,” Wahyu said.(c)
