Director General (DG) Badilag, Wahyu Widiana, persistently makes efforts to promote the implementation of ‘Justice for the Poor’ (J4P) programs. On Wednesday (26/1), DG visited PEKKA Center in Cianjur, West Java.

As frequently reported by badilag.net, PEKKA is a national non-profit organization which was established to empower disadvantaged women to become independent and gain access and control over their private and social lives.

”PEKKA is very close to and supported by local government,” said Ade Yayat, Head of PEKKA Cianjur, when leading the meeting with DG Badilag. .

PEKKA and Religious Courts have similar programs in providing legal aids for the poor. The two institutions are trying hard to implement ‘Justice for the Poor’ programs.

“If the two institutions work hand in hand, supported by local government, the Supreme Court and other relevant agencies, I am confident that ‘Justice for the Poor’ programs will be successful. Thus, more poor people will be much helped,” Wahyu Widiana said.

The collaboration between Cianjur Religious Court and PEKKA is an example. Supported by various elements, for the last three months, Cianjur Religious Court has resolved 196 prodeo cases, 150 of which were facilitated by PEKKA.

DG Wahyu Widiana hope there will be more regions that are made as a model for the implementation of ‘Justice for the Poor’ programs. (c)
