DG Badilag now has a new Director for Religious Courts Officers after the previous Director, H.M. Zuffran Sabrie, retired last month. The new Director, Purwosusilo, was officially inaugurated by the Secretary of the Supreme Court on Tuesday (22/2) at the new building of the Supreme Court’s Secretariat, Jl. Ahmad Yani, Central Jakarta.
Purwosusilo was initially the Junior Registrar for Religious Civil Cases at the Supreme Court. He will be leading four sub directorates at Badilag i.e Sub Directorate for Judges Transfer, Sub Directorate for Registrars Transfer, Sub Directorate for Judicial Officers Development, and Sub Directorate for Data and Evaluation.
The new director was born on September 29, 1954 in Pacitan, East Java. He began his career as a civil servant candidate at Ponorogo Religious Court in 1980. His judge career began in 1991 at Kediri Religious Court. Two year later he was promoted to be the Vice Chief Judge at the same court. In 1995, Purwo was transferred to Blitar Religious Court and to Banyuwangi Religious Court in 1996.
After that, for a period of five years Purwosusilo became the Chief Judge at three different courts; PA (Religious Court) Probolinggo in 1998-2001, PA Tuban in 2011-2003, and PA West Jakarta in 2003-2004.
Since 2004, he has been appointed as high judge at Jakarta High Religious Court before he was assigned as a supervisory judge and junior registrar. Purwosusilo is actually not a new official at Badilag because he was often involved by the DG Badilag in a number of policy making activities.
“On behalf of myself the big family of Badilag, I congratulate Pak Purwo as the new Director. I hope he can contribute a great deal in implementing the vision and mission of the Supreme Court, especially the Religious Courts,” DG Badilag Wahyu Widiana said. (c)
