The new Judicial Commission Chairman, Prof. Dr. H. Eman Suparman, SH. MH, visited the High Religious Court of Gorontalo, Friday (25/3/2011). He was welcomed by the Chief Judge of the High Religious Court of Gorontalo, Drs.H.M.Sunusi Khalid, S.H, M.H.
“The existence of the Judicial Commission (KY) is now accepted by all parties especially by court officers. We make an effort to build a harmonious relationship with the Supreme Court’s leaders. And we succeed”, Eman said.
Eman explained the important efforts of his institution in maintaining the honor, dignity and behavior of judges.
“There is no compromise in upholding the code of conduct and therefore all judges must obey to perform the ten points of it”, Eman said.
.
Eman stated that the Judicial Commission has no authority to assess the verdicts of judges whether they are good or not. It can not exceed its authority to domain of technical matters.
“Indonesian judicial system recognizes a specific mechanism how to assess the verdicts of judges. The Supreme Court will assess the verdicts from the high court and the high court will correct the verdicts of the first instance court”, Eman said.
Eman suggests that all religious judges have to improve their knowledge and skill because after the issuance of the Law no. 3 /2006 and no. 50/2009, the authority of the Religious Court becomes wider than before. The dispute of Shari’a economic absolutely needs a specific skill and knowledge. (raj)
