As many appreciations addressed to Religious Courts regarding their excellent performance in terms of providing public services, this should be a momentum to more and more enhance the services. The statement declared by DG, Wahyu Widiana, in the opening ceremony of Judicial Guidance and Code of Ethics Socialization for Religious Court judges in Jayapura Religious High Court jurisdiction, Tuesday (4/19/2011).
Quoting Cate Sumner and Tim Lindsey survey, published in “Reformasi Peradilan Pasca Orde Baru” DG challenges all judicial apparatus to prove whether Religious Courts are the best state institutions in terms of truthfulness and effectiveness or not, as the survey investigated. To do so, DG emphasizes that quality improvement in providing public services is the only measurement to assess the success of Religious Court as described by the survey. .“Moreover, as mentioned in the survey, Indonesian Religious Court could be a model for progressive social reform, not only for other Indonesian courts, but also for the Islamic court system in South East Asia”, stated Wahyu Widiana.
However, DG also acknowledges that Religious Courts still face undeniable shortcomings in many aspects, regardless some various programs they run. Through free case fee (prodeo), circuit court, and legal aid pos program, Religious Courts all around the country try to present useful and accessible solution for justice seekers. “Those programs are submitted to realize justice for the poor,” said DG.
To support the main task, DG reminds all participants of Judicial Guidance and Code of Ethics Socialization to utilize SIADPA Plus program. The program is absolutely useful in administering case management within Religious Court.
“I really hope all participants here to not only utilize, but also improve SIADPA system in their own work places,” ask DG to all participants. [SQ]
