The Supreme Court Will Hold the National Working Meeting

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia will hold a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on September 18-22, in Jakarta. The meeting will be attended by more than 1970 participants from all courts throughout Indonesia. The participants will consist of justices, ad hoc judges, echelon I and II, chiefs of the high courts, chief of the courts from the first level and etc.

It will be absolutely different than the previous National Working Meetings. It is designed to be paperless, all information on it are available in a special website. During the Meeting, all participants will be able to get all papers on subjects of the discussion by downloading from the website. They will not be provided with printed books or papers of which are common every year.

“It is suggested that all participants download all subjects of the discussion from their offices before they go to the Rakernas,” the Chairman of the Organizing Committee,” Wahyu Widiana said.

At the end of the Meeting, all results of the discussion will be given to all participants in form of digital files recorded in compact disks. When all participants return to their offices after attending the Meeting, they can print them out.

Wahyu explained that the maximum usage of IT in this Meeting is very important to prove bureaucracy reform and quick wins conducted by the Supreme Court as well as all courts, runs very well.

Besides, according to him, it will also motivate and urge all apparatus of all courts to use IT as an important tool to enhance the recent reform program.

The theme of the Meeting is “To improve the Role of the High Courts as the front guard of the Supreme Court”. By defining the theme above, the Meeting aims to maximize the role of the high court in managing all courts under their jurisdiction.

The Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana asked all participants from the Religious Courts should be able to operate laptop in the Meeting. Therefore, all participants must prepare them selves before they go to the Meeting.
