Due to High Solidity, Cianjur RC Earns Various Achievements

The Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana, appreciated Cianjur Religious Court that has earned many achievements in implementing the main tasks and function of judiciary and performing services programs for the justice seeker and the public as well.
Cianjur Religious Court is often visited by foreign guests due to its success in implementing “Justice for the Poor” program. In the middle of this year, the religious court gained “Religious Court Website Award” as the fourth rank in the national level and the first for the provincial level. And at the beginning of the month, it has been decided by High Religious Court of Bandung as the court with highest score for Information Desk and Public Service in the area of West Java.
The Director General secretly visited Cianjur RC after attending the discussion on the draft of Shariah Economic Procedural Law. “I miss to see the development of Cianjur Religious Court.” He told badilag.net.
The Director General used to frequently visit Cianjur RC either when accompanying foreign guests, or coming by after attending a meeting with NGO, or coming by after visiting the venue of circuit court, or coming for a deliberate visit.
.“I am pleased and proud to see the performance religious courts.” The DG said. He also stated that the religious courts and mahkamah syariah are in the middle of moving to make changes towards a better state. “Those are encouraging us all.” He said.
The Director General’s visit to Cianjur RC was without prior notification. And at the time Chief Justice of Cianjur RC, Dudung Abdul Halim was at the lobby room with his staffs. Then The DG was hailed and directed to the Information Desk, where two officers had been on duty.
After filling the guest book offered by the officer, the DG was given a guest badge which is usually given to the non-litigant guests. The DG then made a dialogue with the officers. The officers, who consist of a handsome man and a beautiful girl, well dresses and friendly, replied the DG’s questions.
“Here we have a computer connected to the SIADPA.” The officer said, while assuring that even the cases’s information can be provided at the Information Desk.
“This is what we want.” The DG told badilag.net.
After talking to the information desk officers, the DG then visited the legal aid post (Posbakum). This is the one that attracted the DG’s attention.
There were three officers of legal aid post on duty and were able to meet and made a dialogue with the DG. They were Elis Rahayu representing a Legal Aid Institute under the management of Cianjur Community Development, Asep Anwar and Tavip Herawan representing PERADI. Three other officers, one representing a Legal Aid Institute of STAIS Al-Azhari and two representing KAI, were on duty on other days.
“From March to September, there were 371 litigants who use this legal aid post. They consulted an average of between 2-3 times to us.” Ellis explained. “We serve for 6 hours a day, whereas on the MoU we only serve for 3 hours a day.” She explained more.
"We are pleased and proud to provide services to people who can not afford, even if the services exceed the hours specified in the MoU." Asep Anwar said.
Among things attracted the DG’s attention was the personnel recruitment system of Posbakum. According to the Chief Justice of Cianjur RC, the recruitment was conducted openly. The recruitment was announced by radio, and the a special letter addressed to PERADI, KAI, Universities, and NGOs that have legal aid institute.
“We held an administrative selection, written test and interviews.” The Chief Justice said. “The materials for written test comprise of procedural laws, material laws, and for the Islamic laws consist of marriage, inheritance and shariah economic law.” He added.
The Director General was satisfied, even still found a bit weakness in the implementation of Posbakum. The DG then offered some advices for the improvement. “The recruitment system conducted openly should be continued to assure that the Posbakum will work well and be qualified.” The DG said.
"Posbakum as part of the 'Justice for the Poor' must be continuously improved, so that people who could not afford are really helped and get their rights, for the sake of simplicity, serenity and well-being of their life", Director General said to the Badilag.net.
