Ambon RC and Malang City RC: Similar but not Identical
The eastern areas of Indonesia are identical with backwardness. But Ambon RC just wants to prove otherwise. The RC does not want to be left by other religious courts in other regions in making innovations to provide excellent service to the justice seekers.
One of the innovations that deserves attention is the announcement of the return of the remaining down payment of court fees. The announcement is made by the cashier at the discretion of the judiaciary’s clerk.
In Ambon RC, the announcement is placed near the waiting room and made in the form of table which is easy to read and understand. The contents of the table consist of case number, name of applicant, and status of the remaining cash down payment.
"This is great," the Director General of Badilag said when visiting Ambon RC on Thursday (10/27/2011).
.
On that day there were eight applicants who have not yet withdrawn the rest of the down payment. The largest amount is IDR 150,000 and the smallest is IDR 20,000.
The Chief of Ambon RC, Drs. H. Mohammed Alwi, MH said that the announcement of the return of the remaining cash down payment is a manifestation of Ambon RC’s commitment to the better services.
He said, after reading the verdict, the judges always mention the rest of the down payment which is the right of applicant to withdraw it. However, in the reality there are still some applicants who for some reason do not withdraw the rest of the down payment.
"Therefore we make an announcement for the return of the remaining down payment," He said.
Meanwhile, in western areas of Indonesia, Malang RC also made a similar innovation. The announcement of remaining down payment of court fees that have not yet withdrawn displayed on information boards located near the parking areas beside the trial schedule information.
The announcement was small and there is no description of the official of the court who issued the announcement.
However, the contents of the announcement is fairly complete. Made in the form of table, contains the case number, name of applicant, verdict’s date, the amount of remaining down payment and the ultimate limit of withdrawal.
The announcement tells, if the money is not taken within 180 days since the reading of the verdict, then the rest of the down payment of court fees will be deposited into the state treasury.
Based on the observation on Tuesday (11/1/2011), there are 53 people who have not yet taken the rest of the cash down payment. The largest amount was IDR 225.000 and the smallest amount was IDR 75,000.
The Chief Justice of Malang RC, Dr.. Imron Rosyadi, MH, stating that his party tried hard that the rest of the down payment can be taken. "That's pretty fare for transportation fees," he said.
Since the majority of religious court users are poor, the return of the remaining cash down payment has become a very encouraging news for them, regardless of the amount.
