Wahyu Widiana: Do Not Underestimate Public Opinion!

Bureaucracy reform which is being done will be useless if public distrust to courts due to bad behavior of courts’ apparatus.
“Therefore, we should not underestimate public opinion. Although we have made much progress, if public gives a negative opinion of us, then we will be considered less successful in reform of the bureaucracy,” the Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana said in the High Religious Court of Jambi (7/3/2012).
According to Wahyu Widiana, if it happened, it would impact on decrease of remuneration.
He stated that to create a positive image, courts had to deliver excellent service to public and to avoid any deviation.
. “Please do not underestimate the little things. They could be very sensitive to public,” he emphasized.He quoted a writing made by Achmad Cholil, a student at school of law of Melbourne on sensitivity of gender.
Wahyu Widiana also informed that Quality Assurance Team would randomly perform audit in assessing the performance of courts.
The team will focus on 8 areas of changes as it is stipulated in the Regulation No. 53 of 2011 issued by the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Reforms.
The 8 areas include change management (in mindset and work culture), structuring regulation and legislation, structuring and strengthening organizations, settlement procedures, structuring HR Management system reform, strengthening supervision, strengthening accountability, and improving the quality of public service.
