Vice Chief Justice: Reform Assessment in the Religious Courts is Encouraging

Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Affairs, the Hon. Dr. Ahmad Kamil, SH, M.Hum said that the result of assessment conducted by Quality Assurance Team last week was very encouraging.
“I got a report that the result of the assessment was very good and I am very proud of it,” he said in a coordination meeting of which was attended by leaderships of High Religious Courts throughout Indonesia, Monday night (23/4/2012).
The Quality Assurance Team had assessed 16 courts which consisted of 8 first instance courts and 8 appeal courts. The team visited the courts from 16 to 20 of April.
In fact, the Team did not only assess the Religious Courts but also other courts including district courts and administrative courts. The team had visited some courts which were located at 8 provinces consisting Medan, Pekanbaru, Jambi, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, Manado and Samarinda.
. The assessment was focused on 8 areas of changes which was in the line with the Ministry Regulation Number 53 of 2011 on Guidance for Quality Assurance and Guidance for Bureaucracy Evaluation and Monitoring.The 8 areas of changes are mindset and work culture (change management), regulation management, organization management, administration management, human resources management, supervision strengthening, accountability performance strengthening, and public service improvement.
The availability of documents is very important in this assessment. Besides, the team also conducted some observations, interviews and questionnaires. It also searched some important information from justice seekers.
The assessment would discover whether bureaucracy reform has been implemented or not in the courts. Finally, the assessment will determine the percentage of remuneration that the court apparatus receive it.
For the good result of the assessment, Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Affairs, Ahmad Kamil appreciated and thanked to all apparatus of first instance courts and of appeal courts.
“We still have a crucial job remaining, finance report. I urge that the report will be not disclaimer,” he said.
Deputy Chief Justice for the Religious Court Affairs, Dr. H. Andi Syamsu Alam, SH, MH was also very happy to hear that the result of the assessment was very satisfying.
On the other occasion, the Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana warned apparatus of the Religious Court should not be too euphoric.
“I would like to emphasize that the assessment will not be the last but it will be continuously conducted. Please be prepared,” he said.
He also said that all apparatus of the Religious Courts should improve their work performance either there was an assessment or not.
