Preparation for Anniversary of 130 Years of the Religious Courts

The Directorate General of the Religious Courts (Badilag) is making some preparations to hold anniversary of 130 years of the Religious Courts. A committee for the activity is preparing to publish some books of which will be launched at the anniversary.

Last week, the committee was discussing on the format of program. There were two kinds of program format emerging in the discussion. The first format would be national seminar with book review. Second would be a speech by the Chief Justice on the Religious Court in its history. It would be followed by launching of some books and awarding.

According to Wahyu Widiana, the Director General of the Religious Courts, the second format would be better.

The program will be held at the beginning of September. The committee actually had planned that the program would be held in June 30, but it would be very short in time. Therefore, the schedule is rearranged.

Wahyu Widiana and Arief expected that the draft of all books be accomplished at the beginning of June. . According to Abu Tolhah, there would be two important books, namely a book on the history of the Religious Court and a book on the prominent figures on the Religious Courts. Both books are almost completely written.

Other book which will be published is the compilation of articles published at the website of Badilag. Acmad Fauzi and Ahmad Fanani will server as the editors for the book.

Both Fauzi and Fanani are judges who have a lot of experiences on writing. Their articles have been published in many newspapers.

They have selected around 45 articles from 500 articles published in the website.

Badilag will also publish a book on the cooperation with foreign institution both from Arabic countries and Western countries.

In addition, Badilag will make a magazine consisting of 60 pages. In this magazine, many progress and achievements made by the Religious Courts will be the main topic.
