Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Affairs Got Honorary Degree From Surakarta Palace

Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Affairs, the Hon. Dr. H. Ahmad Kamil, SH, M.Hum was conferred an honorary degree by Surakarta Palace, Saturday (9/6).
The ceremony of conferment was held at one room in the Palace. It was a sacred ceremony. It was directly led by Gusti Kanjeng Pangerang (GKP) Puger.
Some chief judges and judges from some General Courts and Religious Courts attended this ceremony.
The honorary degree for the Hon. Ahmad Kamil is Kanjeng Raden Aryo (KRA). Therefore, the new name for Ahmad Kamil is DR. H.Ahmad Kamil Pradoto Rekso Nagoro, S.H., M.Hum. It is highest degree which is conferred only for two persons from 500 persons.
This Palace had ever conferred some officials of local governments either from Java or out of Java. An artist, Maya Hasan, a harp player was also conferred by this Palace.
.According to Gusti Moeng, the conferment was due to the Hon. Ahmad Kamil was included as one member of Palace families (known as Sentana Dalem). There was linkage of family tree between the Palace families with grandmother of the King of Mataram, Prameswari, King Pakubuwono IV who was from Pamekasan, Madura. And the Hon. Ahmad Kamil was also from Madura.
The Hon. Ahmad Kamil said that he was very happy to be conferred by Surakara Palace.
“I never think that I am conferred by this Palace and I can join this noble family,” he said.
According to GKR Wandansari, the conferment was annual ceremony.
“The honorary degree is given to people who are meritorious to the Palace and also to people with huge achievement,” she said.
