Sudan to Host the Third Conference of Arabian Supreme Courts

Supreme Court of Sudan held the third international conference, 23 to 25 of September in Khartoum. It was opened by vice president of Sudan, at Presidential Hall.
The theme of the conference was “Towards Unification of Law in Arabic Countries”. It was attended by delegates from 16 countries, including the Center of Law Studies and Arabian Justice.
The countries attending the conference were Sudan, Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Algeria, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania and Yemen. Meanwhile, Indonesia and Pakistan were invited as honorary invitation.
Participants of the conference discussed around 24 presented papers. Most of them were related to fair courts which based on Islamic teaching and international law; electronic crime and transactional system; money laundry and cross-border crime; budgeting for Unity of Supreme Court in Arabian Countries; and formulating nomenclature of law.
. Ahmad Kamil was Welcome with HospitalityDr. H. Ahmad Kamil, SH, MH, Vice Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Affairs was given a red carpet welcome since he stepped out the plane to VIP room of the airport. It was a welcome with great hospitality from Sudan government.
Ahmad Kamil was accompanied by Wahyu Widiana (Badilag), Drs. H. Wildan Suyuthi, SH, MH (Chief Judge of Appeal Court of Semarang), Drs. H. Zulkarnain, SH, MH (Chief Judge of East Jakarta Religious Court), Dr. H. Fauzan (Secretary of Vice Chief Justice) and Dr. Nasich Salam (Judge at Kalianda Religious Court).
Supreme Court of Sudan invited delegates of Supreme Court of Republic of Indonesia as guest of honor. Both supreme courts have good relationship which was described in a MoU signed by them. The MoU set cooperation in field of human resource development, law and other judicial matters.
Officials of both Supreme Courts held comparative studies and short courses to learn judicial system and law. Supreme Court of Sudan is ready to provide scholarship for Indonesian judges to take master and doctoral degrees.
