The National Annual Meeting was Officially Opened

Marked by the beating of gong at 12:08 pm of the local time, the Honorable Chief Justice Hatta Ali officially opened a National Annual Meeting 2012 in Peninsula Hotel, Manado, on Monday October 29.

“Hopefully, this Annual Meeting can run well and bring benefits to all of us,” said the Chief Justice.

Consisted of the Supreme Court leaders, Supreme Court Justices, echelon I and echelon II, as well as Appeal Court leaders, as many as 313 participants attended the event. In addition, there were also the Governor of North Sulawesi, the Mayor of Bitung, and Communication Forum of North Sulawesi Leaders.

With the theme "Strengthening Room System to Achieve the Unity of Law and Enhancing Judge Professionalism", the meeting will last until November 1, 2012.

As the chairperson of the meeting, Deputy Chief Justice for Guidance Widayatno Sosroharjono said that the mechanism of this year National Meeting is as that as the last year in terms of adopting paperless system.

“This is the second National Annual Meeting to adopt a paperless system. No single participant allowed to bring such a paper unless the guideline books. All materials for the meeting can be found and downloaded in the portal-site,” Widayatno warned.

“Expectedly, formulation resulting in the meeting can be used as a reference for all courts dealing with both technical and non-technical challenges,” Widayatno added.

Meanwhile, the Governor of North Sulawesi, Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, in his speech expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Court which selected Manado as the venue of the National Annual Meeting. [SQ]
