Fit and Proper Test for Court Leader Candidates

Badilag held fit and proper test for leader candidates of special courts class IA, in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/11/2012).
This fit and proper test was supposed to involve 35 candidates consisted of 16 Chief Judges of Religious Court class IA, 6 Vise Chief Judges of Religious Court class IA, and 13 Chief Judges of Religious Court class IB.
The special religious courts are spread in particular areas including Religious Court of Medan, RC of Palembang, RC of Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, East Jakarta, West Jakarta, RC of Bandung, RC of Semarang, RC of Yogyakarta, RC of Surabaya, RC of Mataram, and RC of Makassar.
.Accompanied by Purwosusilo, Director of Technical Personnel of Badilag, the Vise Chief Justice for non-Judicial Affairs, Ahmad Kamil opened the execution of Fit and Proper Test.
Ahmad Kamil said the test is part of career requirements for the involved judges and the result can also be measured as a credit point for them to gain a high judge status.
“If the examinees got an excellent grade, they might be considered to leap a high judge status,” said Ahmad Kamil.
On the other hand, Purwosusilo explained that the test adopts seven areas of issues by which one examiner will inspect one subject.
The first examiner is Deputy Chief Justice for Religious Court Affairs, Andi Syamsu Alam. He will inspect personality matters including vision, mission, and knowledge.
The second examiner is Deputy Chief Justice for Supervision, Timur P. Manurung who will examine the code of conduct of judges.
The third is Deputy Chief Justice for Guidance Widayatno S. Hardjono and will focus on leadership management.
The rests of the examiners are the Justice Abdul Manan on technical legal expertise, the Justice Habiburrahman on court administration, the Justice Muchtar Zamzami on Arabic and classical Islamic jurisprudence books, and the last is the former Director General of Badilag Wahyu Widiana on information technology.
Candidates were divided into seven groups. Each group, which consists of five persons, will enter the examination room. During 30 minutes, each candidate within the group will alternately answer the question.
Due to the limited space, the committee only provided 4 examination rooms. This situation gave an opportunity for the rest 3 groups to wait and manage more sort of preparation. However, Purwosusilo as a man in charge in this fit and proper test convinced that the whole test will take no more than a day. [SQ]
