Badilag Focuses on One Roof Trial

Purwosusilo, the Director General of the Directorate General of the Religious Courts (Badilag) said that Badilag is now promoting one roof trial. The trial will settle cases of birth certificate. It complies with the Circular Letter of the Supreme Court No. 6 of 2012 on Guidance of Collective Birth Registration over One Year.

“It is one priority program of Badilag for this year,” he said during working meeting held by the High Religious Court of Banjarmasin, Thursday (4/4/2013).

According to Purwosusilo, the trial will involve some institution including Religious Affairs Office, Religious Courts, General Courts and Civil Registration Office.

“By this trial, people will get decision for marriage legalization from courts and they will use it to apply for birth certificate,” he said.

 

Program of access to justice is also a focus of Badilag. It involves circuit court, fee waiver and legal aid post. These programs are now commonly recognized by people even by international people. Therefore, Purwosusilo encourage all leadership of the Religious Courts pay their attention to the programs.

“I hope these programs are well implemented in all courts," he said.

He also informed that Badilag is now creating a mediation center. It is aimed to collect information on the success of mediation from all religious courts.
