Supreme Court of Sudan is Independent in Budgeting

Jakarta l Badilag.net

Chief Justice Hatta Ali said that there are three fascinating things about Sudan particularly on judiciary matters.

First, practice of Sharia economy has rapidly developed. This country became one of pioneers in implementing Sharia economy.

“I heard that this implementation of Sharia economy has been advanced so that we have to learn from this country,” Hatta Ali said to delegate of Sudan’s Supreme Court, Monday (24/06/2013).

.

Justice Dr. Haydar Ahmad Da’ullah with his colleagues, Abdul Mun’im Balha Muhammad Ali and Abdul Rahman Muhammad Taha visited Supreme Court of Indonesia. The Ambassador o Sudan, Abd Al Rahim Al Siddig also came with them.

Second, Judiciary in Sudan is very independent in which one party is able to intervene it in conducting its main duty. Therefore, judges are not influenced by outside factors in upholding justice.

Third, this institution is also independent in budgeting. Certain percentage of state budget is allocated for Supreme Court of Sudan. Therefore, it does not depend on executive power.

Supreme Court of Indonesia and Supreme Court of Sudan signed a MoU on judicial collaboration in 2011. Hatta Ali hoped that the MoU will be immediately implemented.

Indonesia and Sudan had a long cooperation, including in judicial matters. Ex chief justice Prof Bagir Manan had ever visited Sudan in 2007. One year later, ex vice chief justice, Marianna Sutadi with delegate visited Sudan to learn about Shari economy.
