Badilag will carry out a legal discussion for the second round on Tuesday, 27 August 2013. Prof. Bagir Manan, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, has been scheduled to be the main speaker of the discussion.

Met after halal bi halal gathering at the Supreme Court, Bagir Manan, who is now the Chairman of Indonesian Press Council, expressed his readiness to present his paper on the discussion which will be attended by religious courts’ judges and leaderships all over Indonesia.

“Insya Allah I will come,” Prof. Bagir told the discussion committee, accompanied by SC Leadership Secretary Dr. Hasbi Hasan.

.

The upcoming legal discussion will discuss issues around Rechtsvinding. The theme was selected with the main goal to push all religious courts judges to be more competent in finding the law when making court decisions.

The theme of Rechtsvinding was also chosen to maintain the correlation of such discussions. The previous discussion at Badilag took a big theme of improving the quality of religious courts decisions. A legal expert and former Supreme Court justice, Yahya Harahap, was the main speaker.

DG Badilag, Purwosusilo, said that Prof. Bagir Manan is the right person to be a main speaker at a discussion talking about law finding. “He is a scholar/academic and practitioner with a deep understanding of law finding,” Purwosusilo said.

Coverage on Digital Magazine

Like the first-round discussion whose results were covered and published on the digital magazine ‘Majalah Peradilan Agama’, the results of the forthcoming discussion will also be published on the magazine.

With the publication on the digital magazine that can be freely downloaded by everyone, it is hoped that the discussion results can be enjoyed and studied by all religious courts’ judges throughout the country.

The discussion and the magazine publication is one package, which is aimed to improve the quality of religious courts officers, especially the judges in making judgments,” DJ Badilag said.
