Chief Justice Discusses Judicial Reform in USA

Chief Justice Hatta Ali delivered a general speech in front of the United States Indonesia Society, Tuesday at Cosmo Club, Washington DC (5/11/2013). He discussed on Indonesian judicial reform.

The discussion was attended by around 100 participants including lawyers, delegates from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of USA, World Bank, Trade Chamber of USA, USAID, students, and American observers.

David Merrill, the president of USINDO served as moderator of the discussion. He had an experience as Mission Director in Indonesia for six years.

Some hot issues were addressed in this program such as transparency, access to justice, Supreme Court’s strategy on judicial reform, general election, human rights and protection for women and marginalized.

Chief Justice was facilitated by Change for Justice (C4J) for his visit to America. During the visit, Indonesian delegate learn about public service, information access, information technology, judicial management, and data processing.
