Mohammad Saleh Is Elected as Vice Chief Justice for Judicial Affairs

Dr. H. Mohammad Saleh is elected as Vice Chief Justice for Judicial Affairs after affording 22 votes. The election is held at Kusuma Atmadja Room, Supreme Court, Wednesday (13/02/2013). He replaces H. Abdul Kadir Mappong who retired last month.
There are 41 justices involving in the election. Justice Dr. Muchtar Zamzami does not attend the election due to health problem.
22 justices vote for Mohammad Saleh, 17 justices vote for Suwardi, S.H.,M.H and other 2 justices vote for Artidjo Alkostar.
In the order of the election, it is stated that if one candidate gets 50 percent of the votes plus one vote, he is determined as the winner.
Having determined as the winner, Mohammad Saleh states that he is ready for his new position.
“I am ready to perform this duty in assisting Chief Justice to realize great Indonesian judiciay”, he said.
Mohammad Saleh’s Brief Profile
Mohammad Saleh was born at di Pamekasan on April 23, 1946. He graduated from Law Faculty of Airlangga University in 1970. He got his master degree at IBLAM on June, 8 Juni 2002 and got his doctoral degree from Padjajaran University of Banding in Agustus 2006.
He began his career as candidate of judge at the General Court of Pasuruan on April 4, 1971. He was appointed as judge in the General Court of Atambua on November 24, 1973. He had experiences as chief in some General Courts including in Temanggung, Kodya Madiun, Semarang, and Central Jakarta.
He was appointed as judge at High Court in 2003 and as Vice Chief of High Court in Lampung in 2006. He was assigned as justice in July 23, 2007.
Since April 2009, Mohammad Soleh has been assigned as Deputy Chief Justice for Specific Civil Case in the Supreme Court. And he was elected as chairman of Indonesian Judge Association well-known as IKAHI in April 25, 2012. He replaced Dr.H. M. Hatta Ali, SH.,MH who was elected as Chief Justice on March 1, 2012.
He also has a lot of experiences of teaching in some prominent universities in Indonesia such Brawijaya University, Mederka Malang University, Tarumanegara University in Jakarta, and Airlangga University in Jakarta.
