DG of Badilag: Social Sensitivity is Necessary in Handling Family Matters

The DG of Badilag, Wahyu Widiana launched the workshop on Family Rights before entirety appeal judges under High Religious Courts (HRC) all over Java island except Semarang HRC in Jogjakarta by Tuesday night (19/6/2012).

The workshop was held by the cooperation of Women Studies Centre of Islamic State University, The Asia Foundation (TAF) and Badilag itself while the keynote speakers had scheduled were some academia, PPA Unit of Regional Police Department of Yogyakarta and some Women NGO.

“This workshop aimed to improve the commitmnet and individual sensitivity on family rights for judges in accomplishing divorce cases”, Susilaningsih said.

According to her, this kind of waorkshop has been done for several times involving 800 judges in ten provinces due to similarity perception of family rights.

Preparation for Anniversary of 130 years of the Religious Courts

The venue and schedule for anniversary of 130 years of the Religious Courts was determined.

The activity for the anniversary will be held in September 2012 in a hotel at Ancol, Jakarta.

The activity will be held for three days and will be attended by more than 500 participants from all Religious Courts throughout Indonesia. They will be judges and chief judges from first instance court as well as appeal court.

National Seminar, book launching, and awarding will be conducted in the anniversary. The chief justice, the Hon. Dr. H. Hatta Ali, SH, MH will be also invited to deliver his keynote speech.

Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Affairs Got Honorary Degree From Surakarta Palace

Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Affairs, the Hon. Dr. H. Ahmad Kamil, SH, M.Hum was conferred an honorary degree by Surakarta Palace, Saturday (9/6).

The ceremony of conferment was held at one room in the Palace. It was a sacred ceremony. It was directly led by Gusti Kanjeng Pangerang (GKP) Puger.

Some chief judges and judges from some General Courts and Religious Courts attended this ceremony.

The honorary degree for the Hon. Ahmad Kamil is Kanjeng Raden Aryo (KRA). Therefore, the new name for Ahmad Kamil is DR. H.Ahmad Kamil Pradoto Rekso Nagoro, S.H., M.Hum. It is highest degree which is conferred only for two persons from 500 persons.

This Palace had ever conferred some officials of local governments either from Java or out of Java. An artist, Maya Hasan, a harp player was also conferred by this Palace.

Information Desk is One Effective Way to Eradicate Deviation

The Religious Court of Surabaya has completely implemented “information desk”. Before now, “information desk” was located at deep within a room which was difficult to be access by justice seekers.

Now, “information desk” is located in front of waiting room. Everyone can get any information they need very easily.

Syarif Hidayat, SH is appointed as officer of this information desk. He is also assisted by 10 candidates of judges who are on job training. Syarif Hidayat is also an Junitor Registrar for volunteer cases.

Having participated a workshop on information desk last March, Syarif Hidayat suggested the chief of the Religious Court of Surabaya to rearrange the layout of information desk. .
