DG: “Information Technology is Supporting Factor in Career Promotion”

The Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana was presenting the progress of IT usage in the Religious Courts in front of participants of Asia-Pacific Seminar at School of Law, University of South Wales, Sydney, Australia, 2009.

Jakarta | badilag.net (10/10/2011)

Few days ago, the Director General (DG) of the Religious Courts (Badilag), Wahyu Widiana received such a message criticizing Badilag’s policy on promotion which seemed to emphasize more on IT skill proficiency rather than integrity and capability. Due to this critique, he clarified that IT proficiency is only one of supporting elements by which someone’s career might be considered. The main factor for someone’s promotion is the combination between integrity, capability and seniority.

However, DG admitted that IT nowadays becomes a necessity because our era is moving faster and dynamic. Despite the fact that IT is only one of supporting elements to promote someone’s career, it definitely contributes enormous benefits. We can run our main task easily, fast, cheap and of course more accurate due to the use of IT. In addition, IT can absolutely widen our horizon because the internet provides very broad information in almost all aspects of life.
