Deputy Chief Justice of Religious Court Affairs: Now is the Era of Religious Court Revival

Held at the Hall of High Religious Court of Makassar, the Deputy Chief Justice of Religious Court Environment Dr.H.Andi Syamsu Alam, SH., MH., accompanied by the Special Staff of the Supreme Court Drs.H.M. Rum Nessa, SH., MH., Chief Judge of the High Religious Court of Makassar Drs. H.M. Hasan H. Muhammad, SH., MH., Vice Chief Judge of the High Religious Court of Makassar Drs. Bahrussam Yunus, SH., MH., to guide the entire High Court judges, as well as the Chief Judges and the Registrar/Secretary of the Religious Courts under the region of High Religious Court of Makassar.

In the prologue of his speech, The Deputy Chief Justice warns that we have donated ourselves to the Religious Court, so that all religious court people must hardly work to develop religious court, because now is the era of religious court revival.

Further, Dr. H. Andi Syamsu Alam, SH., MH., in his presentation emphasizes three important aspects for all religious court people to well understand. They are general administration, technical mastership and tennis expertise.

Badilag and UIN Alauddin of Makassar Signed MoU

Directorate General of Badilag inaugurated the cooperation with Shariah and Law Faculty of UIN Alauddin of Makassar. The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Director General of Badilag, Wahyu Widiana and the Dean of Shariah and Law Faculty of UIN Alauddin, Prof. DR. H. Ali Parman, MA., on Thursday (07/12/2012).

The signing of MoU was held at the Auditorium of the UIN Alauddin and was witnessed by the Rector of UIN Alauddin, Prof. DR. H. Abd. Qadir Gassing, MS and the Chief of Makassar High Religious Court, Drs. H. M. Hassan H. Muhammad, SH., MH.

The MoU itself was the follow up of the other MoU signed by the Chief Justice of the Indonesia Supreme Court and the Rector of UIN Alauddin of Makassar some months ago. And the scope of MoU including the development of human resources through education, research and community service, particularly in the field of law.

Legal Aid in the Spotlight

Only few might know that Badilag actually had planned on implementing legal aid program 2011-2017. There was a total 359 legal aid post planned to establish in all Religious Courts across the country. However, due to Act 16/2011 on Legal Aid, the management on legal aid no longer under the Supreme Court authority. As a result of the Act, starting from 2013, legal aid post will be managed by the Ministry of Law and Human Right.

DG stated that Badilag deeply hopes legal aid post would come in each Religious Court as mandated by the Act number 50/2009. Unfortunately, this hope is not easy to come true due to the lack of budget.

The Attorney General of Indonesia to establish an application like SIADPA

The National Team of SIADPA was invited by the Attorney General to explain the implementation of SIADPA before their officers (07/05/2012). The meeting which was facilitated by the World Bank was made as a way to share experiences in establishing and implementing the case information system and administration.

The meeting was attended by Amin Sunaryadi and Egi Sutjiati (the World Bank), Feri Wibisono (the Head of Planning Bureau of the Attorney General), Joko Widodo (The Head of Criminal Statistic Data Center and Information Technology), Ahsan Dawi and Dika Andrian (National Team of SIADPA).

On that occasion, Ahsan Dawi presented the features and advantages of SIADPA Plus, automation and integration system of SIADPA, documents and datas provided by SIADPA, the emergence of social network’s sites, and the newest development of case information services and online reporting.
