The Users of Posbakum Exceed 340 Percent

Today, Monday (22/08/2011) Cate Sumner from Change for Justice (C4J) and Sonja Litz, a Senior Councel from the World Bank, visit the Director General of the Religious Courts (known as Badilag), Wahyu Widiana at his work room.

Cate and Sonja aim to discuss on the recent progress of Legal Aid Post (known as Posbakum) which has operated since March.

Wahyu Widiana is accompanied by his colleagues Sayed Usman, Azhari, Umiati and Rahmat Arijaya.

Cate tells her amazing experience when she visited the Religious Court (RC) of Palembang in a couple of days ago.

“It is really fantastic and impressing,” said Cate.

After visiting the General Court (GC) of Palembang, Cate Sumner, Director of Law & Development Partners with her colleagues visited the Religious Court (RC) of Palembang, Thursday (18/08). Her main purpose was to see Legal Aid Post (Posbakum) available there.

Accompanied by the Chief of GC of Palembang, Ridwan Masyur, Registrar, Bambang Hermanto Wahid and some of staffs, Cate Sumner was warmly welcomed by the Chief of RC of Palembang, Burdan Burniat.

“I am very impressed by Posbakum provided here,” she said.

Some High Religious Courts Have Started the Assessment

Some High Religious Courts immediately start to hold the assessment toward the Religious Courts (RC) under their jurisdictions. They are HRC of Samarinda, HRC of Banjarmasin, HRC of Padang, HRC of Bandarlampung, and HRC of Pekanbaru.

They aimed to comply with the Circular Letter of the Director of Badilag no. 2510/DjA.1/HK.00/VIII/2011. It is about the assessment of public service and information desk implemented in all Religious Court.

The Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana conveys his deep appreciation to the High Religious Courts which have shown their great commitment for the future improvement.

The Indonesian Chief Justice, Harifin A. Tumpa, leads the ceremony of 66th Independence Day celebration held at the front yard of the Supreme Court’s building, Merdeka Utara Street, Wednesday (17/08/2011).

The ceremony is attended by justices, officials of echelon I – IV and all employees of the Supreme Court as well as members of Dharmayukti Karini.

During the celebration, it is announced that the President of the Republic of Indonesia conferred Satya Lencana Karya Satya medal to some public servants working at the Supreme Court. It was stated in a Presidential Decree no 74/TK/2011, issued on August 12, 2011.

49 Vice-Registrars Committed to be Agent of Change

About 49 vice-registrars state that they are committed to enhance the quality of services delivered by their offices. They convey their commitment to the Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana when they participate a technical training provided to registrar candidate in Training Center of the Supreme Court, Megamendung, Saturday (13/08).

“We all are prepared to be the agent of change”, they delivered their promise to Wahyu Widiana when he presents a lecture in front of all participants.
