Inauguration of New Director for Religious Courts Judicial Officers

DG Badilag now has a new Director for Religious Courts Officers after the previous Director, H.M. Zuffran Sabrie, retired last month. The new Director, Purwosusilo, was officially inaugurated by the Secretary of the Supreme Court on Tuesday (22/2) at the new building of the Supreme Court’s Secretariat, Jl. Ahmad Yani, Central Jakarta.

Purwosusilo was initially the Junior Registrar for Religious Civil Cases at the Supreme Court. He will be leading four sub directorates at Badilag i.e Sub Directorate for Judges Transfer, Sub Directorate for Registrars Transfer, Sub Directorate for Judicial Officers Development, and Sub Directorate for Data and Evaluation.

The statement was Tim’s answer to the question why he wrote the book entitled "Courting Reform: Indonesia's Islamic Courts and Justice for the Poor".

Religious Courts Committed to Combat Court Mafia

Religious courts are fully committed to take every effort to eradicate court mafia. The commitment will consistently be upheld by everyone at the working units, ranging from Directorate General of Religious Courts, High Religious Courts to Religious (District) Courts.

The above commitment is one of the significant agreements reached in the coordination meeting themed "Combating Law Mafia in the Religious Courts Jurisdiction", which was held in Badilag’s Meeting Room, on Wednesday (17/2).

The meeting was attended by Badilag’s leadership, Chief Judges and Registrars of PTA (High Religious Court) Jakarta, PTA Banten and PTA Bandung. In addition, the meeting also involved Chief Judges and Registrars of PA (Religious Court) throughout Jakarta, PA Bogor, Depok PA, PA Cibinong, PA Bekasi, PA Cikarang, Tangerang and PA Tigakarsa PA. Some of supervisory judges from PTA Jakarta and the Supreme Court were also in attendance. .

Justice for All Needs Coordination

DG of Badilag, Wahyu Widiana, asked religious courts’ leadership to coordinate with relevant parties in implementing ‘Justice for All’ programs. The coordination is needed to bring the programs such as prodeo facility, circuit court and legal aid post in to the success ones.

DG conveyed the statements before around 120 participants taking part in an orientation program for judicial officers of religious courts throughout Banten Province last Friday (11/2) at Anyer, Banten. .

Badilag-PEKKA Enhance Collaboration

Board of the PEKKA (Perempuan Kepala Keluarga/Association of Women Head of Household) visited the new offices of DG Badilag on Wednesday (02/02/2011). The arrival of the women activists was aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions that have long been cooperating in the program of ‘Justice for All’.

"We intentionally invite PEKKA today to our office as a form of our appreciation to the activists of PEKKA. With this visit of PEKKA, we want to encourage our colleagues at Badilag to implement ‘Justice for All’ programs successfully and sincerely,“ said DG Badilag, Wahyyu Widiana. .
